AI-Powered Security Operations Center

SOC as a Service

Running your own 24/7 SOC is too expensive and hard to staff for most mid-sized companies. We provide you with a fully managed, AI-powered Security Operations Center: automated 24/7 monitoring, SIEM, anomaly detection and incident response handled by one dedicated contact – compliant with NIS2 and ISO 27001.

Why SOC as a Service?

Enterprise security without your own security team

01

24/7 Monitoring

Automated round-the-clock monitoring of your entire IT – including at night, on weekends and on public holidays, when attackers prefer to strike. Critical alerts trigger a notification immediately.

02

AI Anomaly Detection

Machine learning models learn the normal behavior of your systems and report deviations within seconds – instead of only after weeks, as with the industry average (IBM: 194 days to detection).

03

Predictable Costs

No need for your own SOC with a multi-million investment and 8+ analysts. You pay a fixed monthly fee – enterprise-level SOC security at an SME price.

04

Fast Response

Defined response times (SLA) and automated immediate containment: affected endpoints are isolated by EDR before anyone even picks up the phone. Further incident handling is led by your dedicated contact during agreed hours – with the aim of limiting the damage an incident can cause.

05

NIS2 & ISO 27001

Continuous monitoring and documented incident handling are mandatory under NIS2 and at the core of ISO 27001. We deliver the appropriate evidence for audits.

06

Security Expertise Without Hiring

You get enterprise-grade security technology – SIEM, EDR and threat intelligence – plus one dedicated contact who assesses the alerts. No need to tap into the fiercely contested job market for cyber security specialists yourself.

Our SOC-as-a-Service Scope of Services

From detection to response – everything from a single source

01

24/7 Security Monitoring

Continuous, automated monitoring of servers, endpoints, cloud workloads, firewalls and networks – 365 days a year. The sensors report around the clock; assessment is done by one dedicated contact.

02

SIEM Platform

Central collection, correlation and analysis of log and event data from all your systems. A SIEM is what makes distributed security events visible in the first place.

03

AI-Powered Anomaly Detection

User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) detect unusual logins, data exfiltration and lateral movement that classic, rule-based systems miss.

04

Managed Detection and Response

MDR combines technology with human analysis: detection runs automatically, while verification and countermeasures are owned by your dedicated contact – not merely forwarding alerts. Measures that cannot wait are applied immediately by rule; everything else you discuss with someone who knows your environment.

05

Incident Response

Structured incident handling according to the NIST framework: containment, evidence preservation, eradication and recovery – with clear escalation paths and reporting.

06

Threat Intelligence

Continuously updated threat data on new attack campaigns, IoCs and vulnerabilities feeds into detection – keeping you one step ahead of attackers.

07

EDR/XDR Integration

Integration of Endpoint and Extended Detection & Response solutions for deep visibility down to the process and memory level of individual devices.

08

Reporting & Compliance Evidence

Monthly security reports, results documented transparently as evidence for audits and compliance records, and a dashboard with a real-time status overview for management and auditors.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often before a project – with answers on process, costs and data protection.

What is SOC as a Service?

SOC as a Service is a Security Operations Center provided as an external, managed service. Instead of building technology, processes and a team of security analysts yourself, you outsource monitoring and threat detection. At NovaCon this works as follows: the sensors and the detection platform run automatically around the clock, while the assessment of alerts and the communication with you are handled by your one fixed point of contact during the contractually agreed hours. NovaCon is owner-operated – you always talk to the same person, not to a rotating shift team.

Is SOC as a Service worthwhile for mid-sized businesses?

Especially for mid-sized businesses, SOC as a Service is often the only economically viable option. An in-house 24/7 SOC requires at least 6 to 8 analysts in shift operation as well as expensive SIEM and detection technology – a six- to seven-figure annual budget. As a managed service, many customers share this infrastructure, making SOC security affordable even for smaller companies.

What is the difference between SIEM and MDR?

A SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) is the technology platform that collects and correlates log and event data and generates alerts. MDR (Managed Detection and Response) goes further: a human verifies the alerts, distinguishes real threats from false positives and initiates countermeasures. A SIEM without that assessment only produces alerts – MDR delivers the response. At NovaCon this assessment is done personally by your one fixed point of contact, during the agreed hours. That is not shift operation – but it also means no rotating analyst who does not know your environment ever looks at your data.

How does AI help with threat detection in the SOC?

Classic, rule-based systems only detect known attack patterns. AI and machine-learning models learn the normal behavior of your users and systems (User & Entity Behavior Analytics) and trigger on deviations – such as unusual logins, sudden data exfiltration or lateral movements in the network. This way, novel and fileless attacks that signature-based tools miss are also detected.

Does SOC as a Service meet the requirements of NIS2 and ISO 27001?

Yes. The NIS2 directive requires affected companies to have, among other things, continuous monitoring, functioning incident management and reporting obligations for security incidents. ISO 27001 also requires monitoring and incident handling. Our SOC as a Service covers these requirements and provides the documented evidence you need for audits and supervisory authorities.

How quickly is a SOC as a Service operational?

A SOC as a Service is usually productive within a few weeks – significantly faster than building your own SOC, which can easily take one to two years. After an onboarding phase in which we connect log sources, roll out sensors and establish baselines, automated monitoring runs around the clock; alerts are assessed by your one fixed point of contact. The exact duration depends on the size and complexity of your IT landscape.
